I love those bats and have ten of them we place in an old dogwood tree each year. They sell at Spirit for $15.00 bucks each. Walgeeens and Big Lots used to carry them for around 9 bucks. You got a great deal!

Yes, I picked up one of those bats on clearance from Collections Etc. the other week. Had purchased the 'Keep Out' sign before Halloween, and zip-tied it to my brass door knocker. The sign was much larger than I had expected, and I particularly like the slow-fading effect when the letters glow.

I noticed these bats are "inflated" (but not a lot, just enough air to hold the shape but not firm like a balloon). Anyone buy any last year? Are they still full of air? I didn't buy any on clearance this year specifically because I was worried they would be bat skins by next year.

I have 2 that I bought just over 2 years ago. I store them in plastic bins in a dry basement throughout the year. They are lasting great. I was considering ordering a couple more but on first look, I think I am out of luck being Canadian. I'll try registering later.
When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

That looks like the one I have...can't remember where I got it. Big Lots maybe? In any case, are you sure it's filled with air or could it be very soft foam?

I have a number of these bats (look the same at least) that I bought 3-4 years ago maybe from Big Lots. They are kind of soft so can understand the comment about air filled, and mine have held up fine. In fact use one in our castle scene this past year. I haven't put him away yet and will take a closer look at him. I like to hang them off our eaves, in my bat cage, or hanging from our standing candleabras. Next year I'm hoping to create a bat cave tunnel the kids will pass thru (finally have 3 arches and want to connect them to form the tunnel/cave).
Love the bat tree foto BTW. The one decidious tree we have in our front yard unfortunately is only now starting to change colors. I wish it was barren for halloween each year.

They are a foam filled latex prop. not inflated, although I can see where you could get that impression. Some are actually pretty firm and others a bit spongey feeling. I've had most of mine or over 10 years and they are holding up like new. I also keep mine in thir own tote in the basement. Spirit still carries them every year. There was a thread on here a few years back where a member lit up their eyes with red leds. Very cool!
