Has anybody tried helmet cameras on the actors that walk around? I'm tempted to buy one but don't know how well it will shoot in low light. I have night vision security cameras set up around my haunt but I think a first person POV would be awesome. We had several zombies that roamed our yard this year and it seemed most of the best scares were out of view of the stationary cameras.

You should start with looking at low-light cameras and then figure out a way to make them portable. Won't do any good to have portable cameras if you can't see what they're filming. I know there are lots of threads on here about security cameras. Most today are small, lightweight, wireless and relatively cheap so it shouldn't be that difficult to adapt some.

I use security cameras in the yard but even the wireless ones still require a wire for power. I'm trying to find a small handheld camera that can film in the dark.

I have a GoPro great camera but not great in the dark, I thought about using it this year but after my attempts of using it in low light on vacations I decided not to bother trying in the dark.

That is what I was afraid of with the low light. Nobody seems to make a night vision helmet cam.

Try helmet cams used by firefighters. They're low light capable

I found this on Youtube. The newer version is a lot better than the original but I'm still not convinced it would work in my situation.

GoPros definitely do not work well in low light from what I've experienced (my husband wears one on a helmet sometimes while surfing and tried to take it night surfing several times with poor results). I also suggest the cameras worn by firefighters.
