Raven's Hollow: Usually I deal with 6" width tulle (for making tutus ), but the next time I place an order I plan on getting a wide bolt of white. I'll definitely take some pictures then.

    Jack Skellington: Thank you!

Many thanks. No worries, with 318 days left, I think we have a little time to spare. Count me out on the tutu's though! Lulz!

I had originally used tulle (cheaper fabric store quality) on our FCG, it looked okay then I swapped it out for cheese cloth. The cheese cloth looked much better IMO, it glowed more under black light, and I agree with Raven's Hollow, it creates a creepier look as it can be torn and shredded so easily.

It will work, but it'll be a bit slow. The normally recommended motors, are 6 rpm which is even a little too slow for my tastes, and I intended to go with a 7 rpm motor. Gear noise ruled it out though (too much gear lash). There are other options (DC gearmotors), but they are a bit more involved both work, and expense wise.

Personally I love the vent motors. 4 to 5 rpm. and good torque.
Link to some props I built last year with the vent motors.

The Large FGC, is a wallyworld ghost, Glowed awsome, 12" stroke on the armature.
We did an Axeworthy also with the vent motor, torque was good, but way to slow. But it was a neat effect as many didn't notice it moving then all of a sudden wham it was next to them LOL.
My Best advise, don't over think it.
