Thread: Spirit/Tekky Toys Rosemary Wiring Help Needed With Picture

Hi ,

I have the Tekky Toys Rosemary animatronic and I have a problem with a wire that has come loose from the circuit board .

The short red wire is soldered to the board just below a marking that reads B772 but I cannot see where the other end would connect to the board. I do know this wire controls the base unit , when I connect the wire harnesses for the head/body , everything there works (eyes,mouth,head turn ) .



I have sent an email to Tekky Toys support but no reply yet .

Hoping maybe someone has fixed their Rosemary prop or has a picture of the circuit board with attached wiring .

Just bumping this thread , still no reply from Tekky Toys . Anybody have/or can take a photo of the circuit board in the base of this prop ?

Odd, as I had issues with last years version of Demonica and received a reply back right away. The issue was resolved to my satisfaction, I would call them and see what they can do to help you.

I have the Rosemary prop and Tekky toys hasnt responded to my issue either. Maybe they just dont like her?

Hi cbhaunt ,

I did receive a reply from customer support a few weeks after emailing them . Not much help though . "Unfortunately, customer service is not supplied with any diagrams or internal electrical information for our items. I'm sorry for any problems this may have caused."

Were you having a similar problem as mine ?

not really sure if its same problem or not; havent opened it to look at wires. but it could explain my issues so i may need to.
what she does is the sound and eyes lightup and mouth moves.
no headturning or lunging forward.

an unhooked wire sure would be a nice fix for it for sure, if thats what it is.

Not following. Is your prop fully working or not? Or is it just a wire with one end disconnected, but all still works anyway? What made you open the base unit to get to the board in the first place? What is not working? Tekky doesn't seem to be much help on the off season. They are much better able to help during the halloween season it seems. When they have replacement parts in stock, they usually just send out the replacement part.

I opened the base of the prop because it stopped doing the lunging motion . If I pushed in on the bottom of the base unit it would start , but would stop as soon as the unit was placed on the ground .

When I opened the base unit , it was obvious that the red wire had become disconnected from the circuit board but there was no indication of where it had been soldered . After some trial and error ( connecting the loose red wire to any point on the board that it would reach and re-solder ) , I finally got the lunging motion problem fixed but now the lights in the eyes have stopped working . The wiring for that section is in the harness running from the neck to the base unit .

The base unit is a tangle of wires , most soldered and then glued into place on the circuit board . I am certain I have caused the problem with the eyes when I was trouble shooting the lunging problem .That problem will not be fixed until closer to October as the prop has been stored .

Ok, I see. Had the same problem with demonica. Her head wouldn't look up when she rose. It was a disconnected wire, only I could tell where it went from a little glob of solder still there. If you got the prop from spirit, be sure to get an exchange next season. Hang onto the receipt and simply say it's broken. Or just call them now and send back for a refund. You should not be stuck with a broken prop. Good luck.

for my Rossemary issue i heard back from Tekky and they said they are just a distributor for the manufacturer and couldnt help me. Is that true? I thought they created these props?

we'll be unalbe to exchange ours as Im not sure how it is in the usa but at stores in ontario theres a no return/exchange policy since they are seasonal stores. have never been successful at exchanges at these stores.

Its been awhile and Rosemary is sitting nicely in the spare bedroom, but I still havent opened her to see if its a loose wire for my issue.. promise to look into it soon!
