Does anybody use the webcaster? I was told by someone that it may ruin my props so I have stuck to the good old web, but most of my house and yard is covered with web. I use 5 people and we stretch and stretch. I really try to get the chunks and linesout but by my pics you can see I am not fully successful!!I would love for it to look more realistic but dont want to ruin my house or props.

I used the webcaster worked great. Ne careful spraying on olds cracking paint. Came off a book case easily. Needs reinforcement if used outside. Pm mr if you need more details or even some tips/tricks

I have used the webcaster outdoors. The glue sticks don't seem to harm much far my props and so far. I use a base line to allow the glue to adhere to. So far I have seen no damage to anything else, Siding, paint, railings... Not sue how the homemade webcaster using rubber glue does though.

I used a MinionsWeb caster for the first time this year. No problems sticking to house or props, but it takes a lot of glue sticks just to get the same effect as the super stretch webs and they are harder to see at night. Also built a rubber cement web caster which does a great job of spreading webs onto the fan blades, but nothing else. Seriously though, the rubber cement caster is much more expensive to operate than the glue stick web caster.
    Undead and loving it!

Kimber1 your house and yard look great! I really like the spiders on the side of the house. I am going to do a giant spider web on the walkway to my front door. I bought lots of spiders at the 50% off sales to do it easily.
We all have it coming kid.

My opinion... Don't change what you're doing. What you have now looks great.

Use some very thin fishing line to make the guidelines of your webbing, then the webcaster will have something to hang from and stretch and reach across distances.

Have you seen the rubber cement version of a webcaster? I'm still experimenting, but I think I like the behavior of this stuff better than hot glue.

i have useda few of these and played with the pro level ones from minions web at the national haunter convention. when talking to them the $50 ish models are low wattage and for close range indoors or covered scenes. with the amount of webbing you deploy you would need about 1000 glue sticks errr ummm web sticks the pro models get hotter so they don't get cooled off by outside air temperatures making you wait for it to reheat also the biggest models have power feeders for the sticks so you dont end up with a crippled hand. the other issue with them outdoors is durability of the webbing from wind they dont have long strands like the synthetic stuff you pull apart so they are a bit more fragile.
the web casters by far give a more realistic look but you have to use the right one for the right job.

this is a very informative video from minions web

I built one and it is the coolest thing. Everybody took a turn on the bushes, it's fun to play with it!.
Unfortunately the winds didn't cooperate. Most of it blew away in the 30 mph winds before it had a chance to adhere. One place it did adhere to is the hair on my legs. I didn't notice until it was too late and it dried. Ouch!
I bought a fan blade at the Electronics Surplus store for $3.00 and the rubbermaid container at Walmart for $2.50 (for a package of two). The tutorial I watched said to drill one hole just below the cap, I kicked it up a notch and added a second hole. Much quicker!
Helpful hint: Make sure you purchase a fan blade that is pitched the right direction, it should blow away from you when turning.......OR...... have a reversible drill motor to shoot with......if not, be prepared to wear the webs!
I just went outside to see if there were any webs still visible after 3 days. You can see how they look after 3 days of brisk winds.

The rubber cement webslinger has very desirable results. I like the look of it better than the hot glue version. And far less expensive. Rubber cement is cheap compared to packs and packs of hot glue.
