Here's my Jason prop I build two years ago and just now getting around to sharing. The body includes a windsheild wiper motor to cycle the arm up and down. The base of the prop is mounted on a large "lazy susan" type bearing so Jason spins around when a motion sensor detects a viewer. The upright frame contains the circuit board and pneumatics that control the prop. External strobes are triggered through a feed from the props control board.
I've yet to add integrated sound to the prop, that's my next update when I get time.
Here's a short video of the prop in action. http://youtu.be/9cG7w3yAUa0
(You'll have to imagine the arm moving up and down as a mechanical link was broken during the video as a result of a TOT pulling down on the arm. )
