I picked up a spell book from Spirit a few weeks ago and im pleased with it. My only issue is that when I switch it to motion only (no sound) there is still sound. So no matter which way the switch is set the prop is doing the same thing, opening with sound.

Is there anyway to disable the sound without ruining the prop? It looks like the only way to crack it open is to peel or rip the sticker inside the book which I would like to avoid. I can care less if I disable sound permanently since I doubt I will ever want to hear it.

Any idea? Should I just stick a small screwdriver through the speaker cone inside the prop? Have any of you encountered this problem?

    Thanks!

I had the same problem with a mirror prop I have! It is motion as well ,I was able to get into it and snip the speaker wires but then the whole thing stopped working (So I suggest not to do that) so I wired it back up and it worked fine . My next plan was to muffle the speaker so I stuffed tape and paper in and around the speaker...it worked enough ,if you listen close you can hear it but no one can with all that is happening threw my yard haunt.

My understanding is that one can select either motion-activated or sound-activated to trigger the prop. Don't think that it's designed to do its opening motion without the soundtrack.
