Mostly lurking, but i've gleaned a bunch of great ideasfrom this forum. For this year, i decided to make a few guilltines. Both work. I took a simple approach to finish - seared wood, lol. Adds to the creepiness (plus when you get close, there's still an acrid smell lingering.)
One is a little under 7 feet, and the other, almost 8 feet.
The larger one was a little tipsy, so i made it with extendable legs, and thus folds flat.
Here's some pics, and a youtube.
My first real prop build(s) - i'll be doing more however

*edit - don't worry about the paint on the deck - the winter makes the deck green and mossy - so it gets powerwashed every spring

Looks great! I especially like the taller one with the angled braces and blade holder mounted inside the vertical supports.

I made one a few years back and it really does work. I had to put three safety stops for the blade. It cut a watermelon in half like it was nothing. Love the look of yours with the seared wood.

yah - scary how much chopping power these have. There are provisions for safety stops - should there be kids around.
