So, I'm kinda new. I've been creeping the forums for a couple years now & thanks to some awesome tutorials & some fabulous ideas from the members here, I've started gearing up for this Saturday's party.
I made a bunch of fake blood, winged it from a recipe I found on here.
Corn Syrup, chocolate sauce & some red & green food coloring.
Now, my question is.... Is there any way to make the blood less sticky? I know I know, liquid sugar = sticky.. I get it. But, is there something I can add to it without losing its consistency or color & get it to be less tacky feeling... or do I just need to start all over?
I mean, I know I can use the blood on my props & whatnot, nobody will really be playing with any of those... but I was hoping to get it to a hard dried consistency instead of... tacky.
Does that make any kind of sense? *laughs*

Unless you can modify it to turn it into a rock candy recipe, there is no way it would possibly not be sticky. Even then, any humidity would simply re-melt it. If you want non-sticky blood then you would need to either find a commercial product, like blood hot glue sticks, or make something yourself out of a thick varnish and pigment. West Systems epoxy recommends using Rit Dye to tint their epoxy with. You would want a long-cure epoxy, either 2-hour epoxy from Walmart or Finish epoxy (the kind used to laminate bar tops, etc) from a hardware store or craft store (common brands are Famowood, Aristocrat, Envirotex Lite, and now Castin' Craft Resin makes an epoxy based casting resin... their original formula was polyester).
