Hey Everyone,

I did my annual Halloween "make one new thing a year" routine this week and it turned out pretty decent. I present to you: The Technological Tombstone of Terror!



It's really only technological in the sense that all the "stuff" running it takes up an entire power strip worth of outlets and the fact that there's a LEDs, a LASER,and an LCD, etc. inside it. Otherwise it's just a tombstone/mini-crypt. ;-)

Construction is the basic pink foam/monster mud/Drylok with various color washes and airbrushing. I did a bunch of different layers of foam with various routing and add-on bits and pieces. I documented the whole build process-- if anyone's interested in it I can make a tutorial.

(It's not actually 'flickery' looking in person, that's the spinning mirror on the laser and the pulse width modulation on the LEDs fighting the frame rate on the camera.)

Very very very nice!!! I love it!! How exactly did you do the LCD flame effect? Do you have a looping DVD also on there? It looks great.

I know what you mean by outputs. I have an 8 programmed routine for a haunted caldrun and it takes up 1 and a half power strips.

Great use for the laser vortex, that is thinking outside the box.

You did a great job, can't wait for next years big prop.
