Hey there everyone. So yeah, it's 5 days before Halloween and I wanna make a prop. Good a time as any right? I've been rather busy lately and am just now thinking "oh wow, I need more halloween props." Any ideas would be much appreciated![]()

this one took 30 mins to make.. longest part was waiting for stain to dry..
you need a perfect stick (free)
cheap mismatched bones (walmart 5.99)
hot glue or super glue (3 to 5 bucks)
saran wrap to flesh up the bones (2.99)

haha, cute and gruesome. Maybe I'll do a variation of that.

Turn any costume into a life size prop by building a "body" out of pvc pipe and filling it out with chicken wire. Dress him and stake it to the ground and voila! Or skip the chicken wire and stuff it like you would a scarecrow. Super easy and fast! Cheap depends on the costume.

Tombstones! You can never have too many. And they can be fairly simple.
Happy Halloween!

Thanks amk. I can't remember where I got the inspiration for it, or if it was just a brain child of mine. I made a simple T out of scrap wood my Old Man had laying around from his garage package. My gramma got me the cheesecloth and tried to dye it grey. It turned out more purple so I hit with some black spray paint to darken it up. Then hands and skull are just from those bags of blucky pieces. For the "arms" we used some of my Old Man's stock of welding rod and stapled them onto the back of the T. Draped the cheesecloth over the shooulders and arms and stapled it to the T as well. Made two little "hooks" to suspend the skull and draped some cheesecloth over it as well. I tried to corpse the skull but time didn't allow. I also painted the hands with some green and brown, trying to corpse them some too.

There are some great ideas above. For about $30-$40 you can make a toe pincher coffin for a body, or for you to jump out of. Old clothes of yours, family member or from goodwill goes a long way to make a stuffed figure. You can stuff it with leaves, old sheets, or even old clothes. If you have a mask laying around, you have a head or use a skull if you happen to have one of those. Depending on what you already have, you can make a quick cemetary fence. Both the fence and coffin are linked in a few different "how-to" halloween sites. PVC is great to make standing or posed props. PVC runs about $1-$2 a piece depending on what size you get. Pick up a can of purple glue primer $4 and some pvc cement $5. Cut it down to size and glue the "elbows" to the pvc to get the form. I think a bag of the elbows run about $5 for a bag of 10. They come in 45 degree and 90 degrees so you can have bent knees or elbows so it can be sitting or beckoning someone closer. Just an idea for you. Let us know what you have, what you have to spend, and what your interests are.
