OK just wanted to make a quick post about another “no honk” air cannon sprinkler valve I found today, my old Orbit ¾” sprinkler valve “honked” no matter what I tried, to include using a ½” adapter for the outlet and porting out the inside of the valve with a Dremel. I was determined to get this right and couldn't find the Lawn Genie valve that some suggest so at Home Depot today I found a ¾” Rain Bird inline valve part number CP-075 and it works flawlessly. Just wanted top pass this on.

Hey robisc - Thanks for the heads up....I am waiting to pick up my air tank and then I was ready to finish off my air cannon. If I get a honk when I fire mine, I will use your advise to fix.

    Happy Haunting!

I just used a pneumatic quick exhaust valve; boy does that thing dump some air with not a squeek.
Have you guys had to tie your tank down to the ground to prevent it from moving?
If I don't the entire tank shoots like 4 feet when I have 70psi in the tank.
Do you know if those water valves are rated for high pressure air as well as water??

Hey lostskeleton - I am not sure about the water valves and I bought a regulator so I could tame the beast a little. I am making for my pirate cannons and don't need as much blast....I hope it works.

Good call Phantom Blue; I started laughing in astonishment when that thing blew the top off my garbage can and shot accross my garage during the first test.

A bit less pressure would be a good plan.

lostskeleton - try putting a wire through the middle of the lid, hooked to the ceiling so you can control that beast and get a cool effect at the same time.....just an idea....

Phantom Blue, hope it works for you, and if mot and all else being equal this should work for you, I've got a regulator on mine and have tried it from about 50 to 80 psi and it has worked perfectly, and yes I do have to tie it down or else it will dance across the floor
