Only because I already have 27 projects unfinished........I decided to start ANOTHER ONE!
A GIANT SPIDER!
I padded the joints and I will attempt the Great Stuff expanding foam rub-on texture technique.
Wish me luck!
Thanks to TK421 for the inspirational tutorial! I hope mine turns out half as good as yours!

I know how you feel, I took a trip to Goodwill just last night to get a sportcoat for my new groundbreaker! I think I'll finally have it ready to go by the end of this weekend.....
Your spider looks great so far! Next year I think I'll build one too, and use the $30 Walgreens skelly that I will corpse as the spider's victim

Looks great so far. The leg positioning totally makes it! So simple too... maybe next year!

The technique worked awesome! Just spray the expanding foam into your (gloved) hand and rub it on the legs. It works!
Thanks TK421!!!!!!
Here are some update pics. I can't decide what I'm going to do with the body yet. I tried splitting some water bottles in half and bending and gluing it to some foam board. I'm not sold on the look yet. I will be adding more spray foam on the sides to hide the PVC fittings, and of course I still need to add a big ball to the tail end. Also the eyes and pinchers aren't quite right either. Time permitting I'll work it all out.Shhhh. Wait. What was that?

I decided a spider body should be fuzzy, what is more fuzzy than a Walmart bathroom rug? NOTHING! Here's the results! I have 4 "baby" spiders to make, I hope I have time (or help). Ignore the paint cans underneath, they will be remove when the final placement is made.
Shhhh. Wait. What was that?
