I figure this can be the start of a new thread, we have always had one about waterproofing, but what about the guys with the animations? lets water proof these bad boys and toss around how to do it.. I'll start:

yea I know, haven't been around much. but I have been finishing a basement and adding a great whole house control area that now rack mounts my DMeXorcist system.. so now I have dedicated cat5e drops for my control/sensor/audio signals and am working on making some props and controllers on the receiving end waterproof/resistant..

I have been almost rained out for the past 3 years so I was basically setting up all the automation within a day or less. so I have slowly been making things more structured, prewired and most importantly water resistant.. as some of you remember, this system is a beast.. i have solenoids coming out my ears and a host of other unmentionable places, well last year was the year of wash down rated break beak beam sensors.. so the sensors go out and can even be power washed lol.. but i know they are safe in the event of a torrential downpour. this year I have been working on audio and making the advanced props a drop and run kind of setup..

so I was thinking about water resistant dmx packs and started thinking about the big conduit enclosure boxes I use for other things, maybe placing the pack inside with short cords running through waterproof passages to the outside.. I know this would work except for one thing, HEAT!

so that is where I am now, trying not to bake my relay packs, I figure they wont put out much at low, relay driving current, however I would like to be able to use their full potential should the need arise..
