Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. This forum is the best thing everAnyway, I am in the process of building a static prop that uses blue foam over a pvc pipe frame. I need a way of affixing the foam to the pvc pipe that isn't visible on the other side. I tried hot glue, but it appears to be melting the foam a little. I was going to try good old elmers, but I am concerned it might not be strong enough. Anyone have any tips?

A big thick long line of Liquid Nails, works every time!

Hot glue will work fine. The trick to not melting your foam is to plug in the glue gun and let it heat up. Then unplug it and let it cool down a little. It will not take long to drop enough temp as to not melt the foam and still melt the glue in the gun.

the best I've found is Great Stuff. http://greatstuff.dow.com/ you can find it at any hardware store.

you can use glue gun but only soons it can be squeezed out . otherwise it will melt it. Also goilla glue works too but it expands so take that to consideration. I'm trying liquid nails this year worked wood to foam but my foam to foam is still wet after a day?

I just did my tombstones last week with liquid nails, the foam kind and it took about a day and half or so to dry completely but man does it hold. I do a campsite haunt every year and we jsut did it this past week end and we had 20-30mph wind gust an dnot a one moved. I glued PVC to the stones and slide them onto rebar.

Yeah, use liquid nails. Or if you go to your local Lowes or Home Depot get stuff that says "foam adhesive" right on it. It uses your caulk gun, great stuff. Might as well use a product made for foam than trying thing that arent.

We have used Great Stuff and Gorilla Glue, both work well. As mentioned above they both expand so you will have to weight the pieces to compensate for the expansion. We used fairly heavy card board pieces placed under clamps, the card board is to protect tombstone surface from clamp indentations.
What I am going to need is your standard flame thrower...
