Finished my first coffin!
Now I just have to figure out how to use it. Leaning toward putting a fogger in it, with a small white strobe. It will just be laying on the front lawn, aka "The Cemetary"!

Nice job...I built my first one of these a few weeks back. I ended up corpsing a skeleton for it.

Looks great. I made one a few years ago but, didn't make it big enough for me to be in.
I put in a red incandescent bulb so the filament wouldn't go out have way through and attached a flasher to it so it would flicker on and off. I drilled a small hole out the head portion and ran the wiring out that way so it was hidden. I like the fogger idea too and someday when I'm rich I want to make it a monster in a box so the lid bounces. Looks like we used the same plans off the net. Oh, I also used a small torch and burnt in RIP in the lid. I tend to chain in down to an old rotten pallet and put it in front of my cemetary with a delivery sticker on it. Post more pics when you decide what to do with it.

Looks great! I made my first one this year too, but used a bunch of leftover scrap wood instead of pickets which I think was a bad idea. I'm loving how these picket ones look.

Thanks everyone. I was actually in the middle of making a Cemetary Fence (MokkNoir...awesome tutorial), as you can see with the bucket of conduit. A friend of mine called and found the plans online for the coffin. We both agreed, and he picked up the pickets at Lowes, Home Depot had 0 on the east coast they told me!
We were both thrilled at how they came out. Each one has some wood flaws, as well as some construction flaws, but those almost ADD to it. Hopefully I will get some time and mess around with some ideas this weekend. Will try and keep you posted.

Thank you Christmascany1.
Joe 31st, we did 2 of them over the course of last weekend. My budy came over in the afternoon, and we had to run out to Lowes and buy me a table saw (I will use any excuse to get power tools). We spent some time putting the saw together, but once we started, it came along nice. You are right, a ton of cutting, but welll worth it. I would say a few hours for each. We had to keep telling each other, "it's a coffin", don't worry about specifics!!!
