So this is my first year making any kind of props; I decided to make a Pirate ship bow, wiper motor controlled ship wheel, and a talking Jolly Rodger. I also am incorporating a thunder light controller to go with the pirate ship. It was ambitious, but it all got done. I will post pics of the pirate ship in a couple of days. I used a Cowlacious talking skull kit, with the Scary Terry Board. I had a lot of fun putting it to gether and doing the audio editing. although I am still looking for the anchors to go on the ends, any body know where to get them.
here are a couple of pics of the completed Jolly Rodger.
I stretched out a couple of old terry cloth towels for padding and then stretched the red velvet over that and stapled it down.
I used a Ihome rechargable speaker, 8 AA battery pack and an old Ipod for the animation. Hiding the speaker behind the hat and through the towels helps to remove the sound of the trigger tone I used for the servo control.
And here it is completed except for the anchors I'm looking for! Any ideas?

Very cool prop! .

You could always carve out of the pink/blue foam a couple of anchor shapes and then paint with metallic gray to get some anchors...
You can create albums here on Halloween Forum and get the BB code and just paste into the post, or use something like Flickr or Photobucket and same thing - you want the BB (for bulletin board) image code.Last edited by Frankie's Girl; 10-18-2011 at 01:31 PM.

Love the swords too...

I found a few decent ones (still need repainting)

I'd think if you look around stores that do home decor like Home Goods or Big Lots, you might come across some in the nautical/beach stuff for wall decorations. I've seen them periodically I just can't say when.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

mikiemike,
Welcome to the HF!
I launched a thread a couple days ago. Here's a link...
Jolly Roger animated prop
There are a couple threads on HF as well. When you enter the Halloween Props, there's a small tab for "Search Forum." Chances are there's already a thread with some great ideas. Happy Haunting Matey!"What's this? What's this? There's magic everywhere!"
