I have heard of people mixing drywall compound with outdoor latex paint (make it runny enough to be brushed on) with good results. I know that Wal-Mart has drywall compound in the harware department.

Joint compount/paint is not a waterproof mixture and would still need to be sealed with something.
So, the question is what purpose are you asking about? You could mix some sand into some outdoor latex and get a similar result to drylock, yes. If you don't need the texture, skip the sand.Last edited by UnOrthodOx; 10-18-2011 at 08:29 AM.

Kilz masonary waterproofing paint sold at Walmart in the paint section. Works the same as Drylok and cost less, comes in white and gray. The one I bought was about $20/gallon.
