I posted this on hauntforum also because I am just that proud of it. I built it with frightprops.com creature crate kit and lid opener. There products are very high quality, though pricey. I couldn't be happier with the results!

Great movement when active!!! Looks top quality!! One suggestion (hope you don't mind). I would put something like a skeleton or body in the crate if there is room as when the light comes on you can see that the box is empty.

We didn't have plans for the box itself. We just bought the wood and made a box 28" X 28" X 28". It of course can be made any size you wish. We put a lot of reinforcements in it to keep it from falling apart. The components all are from frightprops. An old trunk would work, or any wooden box you may come across. It isn't even necessary to have openings in it, though the light coming through does help.I am going to the store today to look for a mask to attach to the inside of the lid.

I love frightprops and as you say, they aren't cheap. I got my first pneumatics from them and my huge furry jumping spider. Love how yours turned out. I really wanted to build one this year but, the money just wasn't there. Check out Party City, they had hands with forearms attached that you could nail to the lid also so it would look like it was pushing up.
