Thread: Need 5/12 volt PIR Sensor

I want to start animating some of my props but I want them to be triggered by people walking by, I don't want to use 110 AC voltage looking for 5/12 volt PIRs that I can hack. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've had luck with the simple IR sensors you can buy at Home Depot or Wal-Mart for around $10-$12 or so. They are simple home security devices that have the sensor which triggers a simple speaker to emit a squeal when someone trips the IR sensor. I successfully hacked one last year to work with my pop up coffin prop......worked pretty good too! Check my profile for a video of it in action.......good luck!
