Last year, I had a fog machine running on a timer (10 seconds on, 10 seconds off) for about 5 hours. It only went through about 2 quarts (maybe slightly more)of fog juice. A gallon should be more than enough for the whole night. Just remember to check the levels and fill it throughout the night. If you let it run dry, it will overheat and break.

Buy a gallon. For the application you say, you probably won't need to refill. But if you're letting it go full blast every time it switches on, you'll at least be low by three hours. Might be a close call. I use the foggers switch and just keep it on. It blasts, resets, and blasts again for three hours or so- maybe closer to four if I start while it's still light out. I had to refill once on all three machines. Have an appropriate size funnel at the ready and a flash light. Refills can be messy in the dark. Have fun fogging!
