I have plenty of lighting and I'm a night owl so that helps. Does anyone have any good tips on keeping vandels away? Please keep in mind I'm on a budget. Thanks in advance for your help...

Bulldogs, shotguns, tiger traps, lion's, tigers, and BEARS! OH MY! Nah, j/k. The best way I know is to break down as much of the things that they would target, or are of value to you. Especially irreplaceable hand made props. I'll load as much into the garage as is possible, but the best part of my haunt is in the back yard. Surrounded by a 6' privacy fence, so it's less work overall for my particular set up/break down. Out in the front, a grave yard fence with gates can do wonders. But, it is subject to being vandalized as well.

AR-15 and 40 Glock is what I use. But really you can but bright motion sensor lights that you can plug in and out whenever you want. Vandals are less likely to do it under bright lights Id light it up like a football field.

3030 with laser sight...or just a stick with a laser sight....as long as they can see the laser sight and not the stick.

So much talk about weaponry... nobody even considered just cursing the props, so that anyone who stole them would meet misfortune? It's far more entertaining that way, and you might get the item back with an apology.

Or, go with what Raven's Hollow said. Place it somewhere they can't get to it. The best means of prevention is removing the temptation!

I was only part way kidding. Benelli M4/90 and a Kimber Custom TLE RL II which is modified to near MCSOCOM specs (still working on it). All the neighbors know I travel to the shooting range often, and I've never had any problem's with vandalism. But yes, a lot of that has to do with removing temptation Although, that certain other knowledge probably is the single greatest deterring factor.

Last year I had a problem, but I didn't have fence all the way around my yard. After I built more fence I didn't have any problems.

This year, with fence surrounding the entire thing, (knock on wood) No problems with vandals yet! (Let's hope it lasts!)

Also, when I turn the "lights" off, I turn on my motion sensor house light. Don't know if it does any good, but it is pretty sensitive.

I always keep superior firepower as an option, But I have built multiple sections of fence to surround my lawn, and I switch from my prop lighting into security lighting late night. I mounted 2 large lights in my tree which light my lawn like Lunar park. This acts as a deturant, and gives my home cctv cams a beautiful clear pic if someone does do a number on my stuff.

    Heheh. Funny responses.

So far I've been good with no vandalism. There are a few things that are done in case that lucky streak ends. The best tip I got from our local police is to Delay, Delay, Delay. The harder and longer it takes to steal your stuff, the less likely it will happen. So, tie down what you can. I like to use tree stakes and string. When you pound them down in the lawn, you can't even see them. Also, there is a fence around the graveyard that will make it a pain to get past. Finally, the tombstones are slid over two pieces of rebar and when you pull them up, they seem stuck to the ground. You have to pull them straight up which is unnatural. A thief would want to just grab and go and wouldn't expect that motion. They are also tree-staked down by the way. I hope that's enough deterrent. The awesome by-product of all this is it helps greatly with the wind.

Also have cameras facing the front yard.
