Please allow me to rant.If you do not wish to hear my rant, please move along to another thread. You won't hurt my feelings. I'm getting ticked off. For the past couple of years LED's have crept their way into light strings. All our Christmas lights are LED's. However, finding Halloween light strings are difficult to come by. Wal-Mart, Walgreens, etc. They only have the "old school" lights. Do the light manufactures not think the Halloween people like to save on their electric bill, too? I am happy to see LED's becoming more mainstream. I would like to see more LED Halloween lights for 2012. I know I can order them online, but why can't the stores that stock light strings carry LED light strings as well.
Thank you for allowing me to rant. I feel much better now.![]()

You're right.
I've bought a lot of the orange LED light strings at Big Lots. Usually AFTER Halloween.

I bought 1 string of orange LED bulbs that I'm going to use for my glowing embers from Michael's back in August. I'm glad I grabbed them then because like you I haven't seen any since anywhere else.
I think as time passes you'll see more but just not this year. Probably still clearing out old stock.Boo!

Got orange & purple LED lights the last 2 years but this year I didn't see any. Thought it was strange. Good luck finding some.

I just saw an ad in the Wal-Mart flier, on somebody's flier anyway, they had L.E.D. light strings that you could change from Halloween colors (i think orange and sort of UV Blacklight to Christmas colors) by use of a remote control. Seemed like a neat idea to have a multi-use set of lights you could put up at the beginning of the fall and leave up through the Christmas season........

Personally, I don't care for the look of LED holiday lighting, especially for xmas. I MUCH prefer the old C7's, C9's and miniatures.

I agree, have not seen them in stores this year. Got mine on-line and have to say besides the energy savings the LED orange looks so great - intense color as compared to incandescent. Bought a few of the LED spots from Spirit too. The color is just so much more intense with the LED's.
Light and shadow has a profound effect on our perception of reality....which makes Halloween lighting so much fun!
