Glad to hear you found the problem. Carl mentions something about dodgy audio connectors on the ST-400, but that sounds like it's parts related. If this is a workmanship issue...not good.

Unfortunately, this appears to be workmanship. And also unfortunately, for lack of any other options, I had to buy a second board from him last night. Upon a real close exam of the board and part (I need these BIG magnifying glasses, lol) I do not believe that the board can be repaired by a novice, namely me! I am hoping that with his reputation, I will be able to send the broken board back and get a refund for it...I have always read that he was real easy to deal with and would work with people, not to mention, he knows I am a member here, and some bad publicity on the largest halloween forum on the net could kill his business...
I did look at the website you told me about, but their recorder/playback boards are special order, and time has run out for this year. Like I said, I have well over a grand invested in this new style coffin I built, with all of the pneumatics, the fully bucky, and all of these electronics to bring him "to life" . I even designed an 8 channel PET especially for this year (It allows for multiple simultaneous operations between the relays, and has complete emf protection on all 8 relays, including low amp fuses on each to protect the board and the prop it controls. My buddy Jeff at simple circuit boards built it for me, btw) not to metion the thousands of dollars in new "toys" (tools) and building materials for other props that were in the building stage, but could not be completed due to the fact that I hurt my shoulder really bad at work and just went thru reconstructive surgery on it 8 weeks ago.
