Hello,
Im looking to make a corpse hanging from a tree wrapped in a spiders web. I have a great spider idea but need this to complete the look I want. Basically I want to know where I can get a few bones to wrap in the white batting to make it look like a skeleton is being eaten alive. I have the batting, spider web and small spiders to decorate it. But I dont want to pay a fortune for a full size skelly when I can use a cheaper substitute for the body. My idea is to have the corpse hanging in the pine tree next to the house with the queen spider legs wrapping around the tree on one side headed up towards it. People wont actually see the whole spider just the legs and the corpse its feeding off it. Im trying for the creep factor and using their imagination to what is there. Do you think this would work? I havent done this type of thing before so its going to be trial and error. Anyway...any suggestions on where to get the skelly parts for cheap?

I am making one out of stuffed clothing..wrapping it in plastic then the batting and then some spider web.Not sure if this will help you or not.I think your idea is great and will be very creepy. Please post pics when you get it done..Can't wait to see them.

Are you using any body parts in the hanging corpse? I didnt know if people would get the idea if I didnt use at least a hand/foot in it.

i made a hanging corpse wrapped in webbing. i had a mask it hapenped to kinda look like president clinton but once wrapped in webbing it was more that it was a face i made the body by using empty 3liter and 2 liter soda bottles strapped together with duct tape the i used one bloody hand from the dollar store and one bloody foot bought same place then hanging out of the side was a skeleton hand corpsed it did look good and was very light i hung it by white rope tied into soda bottle cluster and then wrapped inwebbing strung tight up length to a branch 15 feet into a tree
i got the bones from big lots in a bag of bones for under $10

Basic Skelly is cut from scraps of plywood and attached to a central body form made from old coat hangers or chicken wire what ever you have on hand. I take a old sheet and get it wet with water then put it in a mixture of outdoor latex paint and Drywall joint compound and form the body with the sheet .
When it dries is hard and holds the shape you made it into plus its water proof. Now cover with the clothes and batting your set to go .
