I don't remember seeing large containers of it. But I do know I got my smaller containers of latex at Michael's Arts and Crafts. Regarding the carpet latex I read that is stays tacky for a long time, like months even. May not be true but I have seen several threads about it.

I have used the carpet latex, and it is very hard to work with compared to straight liquid latex/balloon rubber. Not sure I can provide you with any good links on the net...but if there is a theatrical supply store near you, that is where I get mine and at a good price too!!

FXWarehouse is one of my very favorite supply houses, Thea almost always has latex on hand.

I say only use carpet glue to glue carpet, it works well for that, not for what we need though.

I purchased one of those little 16 oz jars from Michaels today to corpse one of those big blowmold plastic pumpkins, and I highly doubt it's going to be enough to do one; and I have two of them to do. That cost me $16 I'm fearing it's going to cost me $80 latex just to corpse two pumpkins. Please don't tell my wife

Carpet Latex is the way to go, way cheaper than buying latex from craft shops or stationers, and I find it really easy to work with. I am in the UK and I picked up a 5l container for £18.00 that works out at about $30.00 I think.

Revned, I've never used carpet latex, so know nothing about it. What of the rumors that it stays tacky or sticky for a very long time? Have you had any experience with that, or do you find it to be a lot like the regular rubber latex?
