I've got all the mechanics sitting in the garage or in the mail to make a great fog curtain to project on. Ideally, I'd have something like the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean, a video that actually addresses the people. However, I have no real idea what exactly I want it to be or to say. I'll know it when I see it type of thing. I am just wondering if there are any videos like that available. I am willing to pay, a fair amount even, if it is actually the type of thing I'm looking for, and not the Hallowindow type stuff, but more realist, single character, with dark or no background.
Cool. I like the fog screens. Now, can you provide more information? What is the rest of your haunt like? What's the theme? I'm sure you want to tie everything in together.
I've gone mostly with a traditional haunted house theme and graveyard. My house sits on top of a hill, on a steep slope, with a walkway/stairs that snakes up from the road to the front porch. It had a more Victorian style to the house with a partial wraparound porch. So it worked really well, between the walkway with the landscaping, and the style of the house and it's position it made a perfect haunted house. However, I just went through an renovated and changed the style up a little bit to more of a craftsman style house, and removed the small section of grass that used to be the graveyard, now it's a paved courtyard.
So I guess the gist of that, is I like to more traditional haunted house style, nothing cutesy, not really looking to do aliens or stuff like that. I'd be open to somewhat of a style change, I just can't really come up with something that, on paper, seems like it would work as well as the theme I have used.
I've got a pretty good stockpile of stuff, a few ni$e fog machines, lights, some computer control, video surveillance, as I like to hand trigger stuff remotely for the best timing and not having to worry about false triggers, pneumatics, 1 3 axis skull on full skeleton, plus enough stuff to build 2 more. I like doing these projects, probably moreso then actual halloween. lol Pretty much, I have a shop full of tools, supplies and equipment, make a few cool things each year, and buy some stuff to complete the look.
I've toyed with the idea of a pirate theme, as it seems like an easy transition with everything I already have. Just in my heart, traditional thinking, I can't really make pirate, as "Halloween," in my mind.
I normally don't set up much stuff until a couple days before Halloween, so it gives me plenty of time, plus, it's not really the type of neighborhood that a huge display would really be welcome for much longer then that.
or maybe something like this (1st 2 )....( can't beat the price ! ) http://www.becksyndicate.com/Halloween/ I used this on a curtain with fog blowing up it & came out amazing effect, & scared the cr*p of a # of people witha good bass speaker system It's not totally realistic, but not cartoon-ish like HW's, just a thought........
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
