I've posted in previous years, but this year I'm taking it to another level. We only have around 216 square feet to work with, so it's been a challenge to make it work. I think I've done well in the past, but after last year wrapped, I already had the basic idea in my head for this year.
For example, in 2009 (video), and 2008 (photos, video), and last year.
So, this year I got aggressive...
And already started construction...
It's a modular wall system, basically freestanding, with spreaders/expansion braces to hold the walls in place against the ceiling, as well as support posts around the outside edges. And it's solid.
I decided to return the plastic sheeting I'd picked up and to try out the more expensive, but better-looking landscape fabric I'd read about somewhere here:
It looks very nice. Not shiny and cheap, not noisy, it breathes, is lightweight and blocks 90% of the light in two layers (front and back of each panel) and is paintable. It's slightly more expensive, but so worth it.
I'll be keeping this thread updated as the build progresses, and also have decided to do a blog this year.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks, JoJo.
I made some good progress today. I realize a lot of folks are nearly done with their haunts, but I have limited time and considering this is technically "common property" I try not to push it too much.
The frame is complete and I've got everything secured. You'd think these panels were built into the structure, but nothing is screwed into the ceiling or walls.
And this little friend is the reason for that:

Next up it covering it all with the landscaping fabric!

thats a neat little trick when you can't put screws into wherever your putting your walls.

Thanks, all. I'll have more photos later this week and a test walk-through video, hopefully.
All three fog machines are tested and working, so that's a plus. Now to figure out battery needs.

Just wondering if you found it easier to put the landscaping fabric on your panels AFTER you set them up compared to before.... I'm making about 11 panels this year, using the same method and I figured it might be easier to put the fabric on BEFORE standing them up.... just wondering.
