    A follow up to this thread;
    A few new stones I'm working on. WIP

    I managed to finish them up today. They each got a coat of latex primer, followed by two coats of Dry Lok. I then watered down some black and stained them a bit. They came out pretty fair. I boogered up the letter "E" in the last name on the big one. Didn't even notice until I had them primed. I figure no one will pay enough attention to it to notice, but it still bugs me!

    with the prime coat

    Finished!

    Thanks for looking! Now on to other projects!!!!

    They look Great! Good Job. The only thing that would make them better is if they were at my house
    Who says it's not smart to be putting props on the roof at midnight?

    Shipping to Kansas would be steep! I'll keep them here! LOL!
    Thanks!

    Those are beautiful!
    I really love the last one best. Makes me want to go redo all my tombstones and make all new ones... if only I had time.

    Jdub - stones look great. And I think the "boogered" e adds to the the look. We have a civil war cemetery in my town and all the engraved letters are imperfect in some way from age. If you added just a bit more staining for age in the area of the "e" it will have an authentic aged look.

    I thought about this and it's one of those things that doesn't detract from it. You're right about the imperfect lettering on some of the old stones. I may see if I can darken it a bit more as you suggested. Thanks!

    Wonderful to see them all done. The big one looks so much like white marble. So impressive I didn't even see what you were talking about with the letter.

    Thanks! I wanted the color to be a bit different on this one. I ened up mixng some white and gray Dry Lok together and then lightened it a little more with some glossy white latex paint. It came out like old stone and looks really neat. The black stain brought out the highlights.
