I’ve been telling you for a couple of years to take advantage of what Lowe’s and HD have to offer as far as cull lumber. Basically, cull lumber is warped or damaged wood that you can pick up for next to nothing.

I built my cemetery columns, 6 feet tall, for almost nothing and 140 feet of graveyard fence for only $52 (not counting paint).

My latest creation is my coffin patio... I have an open-air patio that is 12 feet wide by 52 feet long. Last year I had trouble with the wind whipping through my patio and knocking over my props. I tried tarps to block the wind. A little cheesy and they made a lot of noise. This year I thought I would box it in for Halloween.

I got some cull OSB plywood from Lowe’s priced at $2 for each 4 foot by 8 foot sheet! I started to box in my patio with a coffin theme and it only cost me $40 for all the wood!

Although I am not done yet, I still have to frame in the door and windows (again with cull lumber). The panels are numbered so I can take it apart for Halloween and put it back up next year.

This price does not include the paint. Here are a few photos, please tell me what you think so far (don't mind my messy yard)???

That looks great, and what a great space for a haunt. I especially dig the coffin shaped windows and doors.

Well, I finally got it done.. Now comes the decorating. Here are a few pics (don't mind the way the sun played with the pics.. The trim is all orange). I'm already thinking how to paint it for next year... Perhaps a stone wall look?

Nice work, now the fun can really begin. I hope you'll post pics of the inside once you're done decorating.

As for the exterior painting you have a whole year to decide so let the creative juices flow.
    Boo!
