Anyone know an absolutely perfectly working way to attach a hose to a fog machine? I've been using a hose that attaches to a pool vacuum but it melted after some long use. I need something that will stay on for sure.

    You don't.

You need to leave a gap so that the hose doesn't melt.

    Yup!
Basically, you don't attach anything that can't handle the heat.
So... Find a metal tube that will fit the fogger nozzle, drill several good sized holes in it to allow cool air to get drawn in with the fog, and attach the flex-hose to this. The length of the metal tube depends on the amount of heat that needs to dissipate to keep from melting the hose. So you'll have to experiment with that yourself.

You're kinda "faking" the gap by using a tube full of holes.

I concur with ye ol' scatterbrains. I leave a very small gap before my hose. Nothing touches. Happy Haunting!

I wouldnt hook it right to the foger. I did this last year and it melted the metal pipe to the foger and ruined it. I had it set up with 4' of metal pipe with about 15 holes in it and it got so hot that the front of the fog machine maelted and fell apart. Just my hard learned lesson. The seem to work way better shooting it into a 2 or 3" pvc pipe from an inch or 2 back.. Seems to give you way more fog/

    hope this helps

If you don't leave a gap the fog doesn't mix properly with the air and while it will still fog, it won't produce as much fog. We set it about 2" to 3" away from the fogger

Make sure that you have about 2" between the machine and what every hose you use and run it through a chiller for the best effect.
