I'm making a few new stones this year for the graveyard. Three are on the smaller side as I don't have a lot more space. I used the scrap foam pieces I had laying around the garage and came up with these three. Still need to paint the cracks, and finish coat them. I picked up a couple foam skulls and cut them in half to add some detail.
The black is where the epitaphs have been painted in

This one will be one of the showy monuments. It stands just over 5 feet tall with the decorative finial. I filled in the seams with joint compound today and hope to have it finished by the end of next week.

I'll post pics of them once they're done but got antsy tonight so decided to put these up!

Thanks! I like the scale of the big one and it will go with a few of the more ornate markers I have. The smaller ones are essentially for fillers and it was good to use the foam scraps as opposd to throwing them out. I truly am out of space though! We have a small yard!!!

Thanks. I'm anxious to get them done so I can move on to some other projects. The weather looks good for next week so I can sand/paint them outdoors.

I really like the tall one with that finial on top!! Tried my hand a a few new stones and used construction adhesive on them to glue the two halves together...I REALLY should have read the tube on that stuff...especially the part where it says "contains mineral spirits, do not use on polystyrene foam"...now I still have two tombstone halves that look like ant farms....hope you have better luck than I!!!

Great work. Big Fan of your stones. Love the overall look of your yard anyway, so I might be bias......

Thanks Rynne! The tall stone was largely inspired by the beautiful monument you made. I really liked the design of it!

Sorry to hear that. I've always used Liquid Nails Heavy Duty Construction adhesive and have had great results.

Thank WF! Appreciate that. I honestly can't pack much more into our ittle space but really wanted another taller stone. I think it will fit nicely.
