Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a couple of strobe lights for my haunt. Any suggestions? I'd like a reasonable price, but long lasting piece of equipment.

Wallmart, target, Spirit Halloween and many other local stores in your area will sell them. and depending on your haunt, when your open and on how many days your open on, considering going with the electric style of strobes instead of battery ones,,, my display is open 4 days and i have a mix of both electric and battery strobes,, man its a pan in the back side to have to go through and change batteries every day,, not to mention exspensive as well. those batteries aint cheap. Have slowly been going through each year and replaceing all the battery opperated stuff i have to electric. a $100 bucks every halloween just for bateries really hurts lol

This is the strobe light I use. best part about it is that it can be run flat out with out needing to rest like the xenon bulbs.

I've used Strobes before from some Halloween area but can't remember the name of it. I live on a corner house with a street light that has a pretty good candle power so my strobe doesn't so much. And I'm not really sure the best place to put it. I've got a grave yard scene with Ghosts and things haunting around with a nice fog machine with a vortex chiller. The entire place is lit up using a variety of lights but I'm not really sure how or where to set up the strobe. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is the strobe that I just purchased. Price is right. I have not received them yet, so I can't comment on them yet.

The thing about using strobes, is hiding the strobes themselves. You don't want to see the actual light flash, you wanna see stuff flash from the strobes.
However, if you are setting up a fog machine, you could have it near a walkway, so people walk through the freshly blasted out fog. Then, build a pressure mat, so when they step on the mat, the strobe light is pointed directly into all that fog and surrounds them with the flashes! Disorienting to say the least!

At lunch at work time to post
I love my strobe from american dj last year aimed it at the side of my house and lit up one of our trees in the front yard. The strobe brought in people from the next block and those who were drive by tots.
That street light is what I have to fight with but its still plenty bright.

*scratches head* I cannot recall where I read it, or exactly what I read, but I'll give it a shot. To those with light pole issues. Depending on how brave you are, I read about a guy who made a prop to cover the light mostly so that it would not effect his haunt. Again, it depends on how brave you are. This guys pole wasn't exactly a street pole and thus not too high up to cover. He didn't go through the township to get a permit, but no one actaully complained. Covering it with a black plastic bag would suffice.
Also, thanks for all the advise, just bought 3 strobes and 2 black lights
