I want to thank everyone on the forum for giving me ideas how to make my own pumpkin scarecrow.

I used

Funkin pumpkin from Hobby Lobby
Umbrella stand
pvc pipe and connectors
wire for ribs and hands
berlap spray painted black for his coat
corn stalks and hay

looks great!!!I am working on a couple of those myself. There are so many different ideas of how to do these it is hard to pick just one..lol..and now you added another look that I love...So geezeeeeeeeeeeee you just made my to do list grow again..lol...Thanks!!!

Thanks! I forgot to add I used spray foam to hold the pvc pipe inside the head it holds great.

I would love to add a brighter light inside the head but funkin recommends only a 5 watt bulb so I don't know.

Mr. Gris, I had not seen yours I had to hunt down the pic on your profile. I love yours too. I feel like a dumbass for all the time I put into mache pumpkins instead of just using funkins....live and learn I guess..lol

he is huge!! nice work on the scarecrow and I think the 5 watt bulb will work fine in the darkness.

If the 5 watt'er discourages you, bump it to a 7 (Dollar Tree carries them in packages). The 7 is another noticeable jump in light, and is still very cool temp wise.

Though..... I would put a 25 in a funkin', no matter what their lawyers recommend. I've got orange 25s in my paper mache heads and they don't even warm the surface. In fact, I can turn the bulbs off and unscrew them immediately with my bare hand.
