    Thought I would share.

Its going to be a 30 ft pirate ship.
Made of a steel frame and decked and planked in wood.
Comes apart in 10 sections for storage.
It is slotted and interlocking to put it together, does not need a single screw

Rusted on purpose to start its vintage look.

    Assembly will be 30 min.

    Will be completed by wednesday.

Woah, that's seriously hardcore. Two types of guys in the world -- metal guys and wood guys. You can always tell the metal guys apart because they build 30 foot pirate ships in their driveway.

The steel alone must have cost a fortune. You must have some major equipment to shape the frame members. I just started using a stick welder this year. It has opened up a lot of options for me. It is great.

Actually, I was going to sculpt it out of foam and fiberglass it.
After weighing out the costs of all materials....... steel and wood was the cheapest.
1200.00 in steel and 300.00 in wood from the amish.

The wood was old laying around stuff that was weathered and they milled it for me. The wood from a store would have cost 2500.00 or more.

Steel was the best option because it was cheap, its in sections, you can jump all over it and it stores in a 10 x 10 area and is weatherproofed.

I have 1 real good welder.
The big steel was bent with a couple of cinder blocks and a mini van. Its True!
The steel to form the sides was hand hammered by me .
The cutting of the steel was a simple 35.00 grinder/cutting wheel.

Thats it. It was built fast.

There was more time in scratching my head on how to do it then anything.

    Ill update when its completed.

I have been scratching my head for months trying to determine how to do something similar. I guess I need to get a welder.

Well done! Can't wait to see the finished product.

That is hilarious. I need to get passed paper mache puberty and become a man.
