I just placed an order for some pre wired 12v LED's for my FCG's eyes and was planning to wire them into the 12v 1a power supply thats powering the motor, but now Im thinking that I really dont want a long wire going from the ghost all the way up to the crank rig. Can you tell me if I could use 2 of these and just power them with a 9v battery? Im thinking they would work, but may be dimmer which might be a good thing. These are the LED's I ordered... http://www.niktronixonline.com/5mm_1...rewired12v.htm What do you think?

Exactly as you said, they would work, just dimmer than with a 12V.

How about using 2x 6v lantern batteries? You'd still have to use a wire to get them away from the LEDs if you don't have a place to hide them nearby, but you'd still have less wire. You could also use 6x AA or AAA or C or D but 2 lantern batteries will last you forever.

LEDs don't generally work like tiny light bulbs. You will need to build a simple circuit if you want to run multiple LEDs off of a different voltage. Try this http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz

Okay, I shouldn't read these threads in the middle of the night. Guess 2 large batteries wouldn't help much. I wonder how long one of these would last with 2 LEDs. Many of them are just a stack of 6 button cell batteries and those tealights tend to last a decent amount of time with LEDs on 3 button cells. Walmart should have them, they're pretty cheap...

google search 3.6 battery. We use them in the aviation business. Best part is, you dont need a resister.
