    Problem or just bad juice?

    Hi, new member here.

Just bought 2 fog machines, Chauvet Hurricane 900 and Chauvet Hurricane 700. Got a pint of Chauvet juice thrown in and bought a gallon of Froggys Fog.
On testing both machines and both brands of juice all I get is very thin fog. Used a lot of fluid and barely filled a 6' x 10' area (sheltered area at my front door). I think the machines are OK, seem to pump lots of volume. Very disapointed in the quality of the fog.

Is there any brand of fog juice known to produce a nice heavy fog? Froggys seems to be popular. Of the froggys juices, which do you use? Swamp Juice, Freezin...? The only one I could get around here is the froggys medium density .."...formulated to create a high density, medium hang time fog".
High density it's not. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I use the Swamp Juice. Lots of thick fog and great hang time, significantly better than generic fluids. I have 3 foggers, a Gemmy 400W, an older Lite FX 700W and a Chauvet F1250 (800W). All three make great fog with the Swamp Juice.

I have a Chauvet 1800 and Freezin' Fog Juice and the thing emits out of freakin' control fog. Like, I'm trying to figure out how to detune the damn thing so I don't fog out the country block.

    Angelus,
Check out the tube that's in the juice tank to see if the filter screen is blocked and inspect the outlet nozzle opening. When I got my Chauvet machine it came out of the box with a partially clogged nozzle, probably due to poor cleaning after QA tested the machine. Nothing a small needle won't fix.

Thanks for the replies. Did a little more "testing" today and figured that what I have will do for this year. I made a simple chiller using a foam cooler ($7) and this seems to help. Being in Arizona with a temp of 100+ doesn't help. If I can get some Froggys "Freezin" I'll try that. I'm in an apartment and can't do any large displays, limited to my patio and immediate surrounds of the front door, so I don't need huge fog banks. I just want to create a carpet of fog to add a little oooompf to the other props.

Just read another thread about the V3000. NICE. Wish I was in a house with a yard and could go all out.

If you want low-lying fog like Froggys Freezin would produce, then being in Arizona DOES help. You want the fog to be cooler than the surrounding air in order to sink to the ground.

Yes I realize that the fog has to be cooler than the surrounding air, so 100+ = good. Thing is, chilling it enough so the fog stays around for more than 10 seconds is not easy...without spending lots of money. As soon as the fog hits the air/concrete... it lifts and blows away. I've got a 10' x 10' max area surrounded by 4' high walls but can't get fog to cover the ground. And 100+ temps do not help ME... I like 65ish. Oh well ... I'll manage with what I got.

I really think the fluid I have (Froggys medium density) is just not up to the task, even when chilled.

Ahhh. I see. I've not tired myself but I've read here many times that wetting the ground helps the fog stick. I think that's mostly for grass lawns, you may not have one in AZ. If it's practical for you do do so, you might try just to see what happens. Also, you are on the right track with Froggys Freezn, it's designed to sink (presumably it forms bigger, heavier particles). But if you have even a slight breeze it will dissipate fog immediately.. I've never heard of any fog that's effective in a breeze.
