I got several from a trailer dealer who even loaded them into the back of my car for me and a few from Lowe's. If you look at the tutorial, there's a picture I took of the blocks in the Lowe's parking lot.
I'm sure you hollow them out pretty easily using a steak knife. (Thanks to Terra for that idea. Steak knives work great on foam.)

Wow fravak! Your barrels and pulleys look so real. I didn't know what a deadeye was but they look great. I would never know any of that was foam. You have amazing talent!

Bug electronics stores, they usually have all that crap from tv boxes and furniture. If you cant get quite the size you need, glue abunch together. After wood filler, sanding, sealing (drylok, thanks Terra!) and painting (also thanks to Terra, watch her video on painting tombstones, her channel is Scaryladyvideos i believe), no one will ever be able to tell if it was one block, two or a that it was even foam at all!
