Still working with the theme "A Carnival of Chaos", I found myself inspired by a 36" skeleton I found at canadian tire. ($14)
The concept, A coin-op style eletrocution machine. Miniture electric chair, the promise of an electrocution and a shocking surprize.Muhahahahahaha.
So this morning I started on the chair for my skeleton.
The great thing about doing mintures, Paying attention to detail doesn't take a week. lol And it's a lot easier on the pocket book.
The restraints are actually leather straps from an old rotten medical back brace. I had to soften them with a hot water soak. I shaped them wet and let them dry/harden.
With most of the chair outta the way, I moved on to the machine itself.
The easy parts are coming together nicely so on to the brain scratching.
I have to figure out a way to administer a safe electrical shock through a metal button. I thought about using a lighter with the electrical spark and just arching it to the button. The more I think about it, the more I think I need more juice and a shock that will last as long as you hold the button down.
I've played games with shock features, and I've been victom to many shock type gags. Anybody got a "SAFE" way to go about shocking people?
Love to hear your thoughts.

What about a joy buzzer? That way you get the shock effect, but i'm not sure how you would rewind it.

the newer bbq grills have a AA battery fired spark ignitor not sure of specs but as long as you hold down button it sparks just a thought

Thx guys. My girl suggested using a joy buzzer, but winding it up all night will be an issue. (throwing a huge halloween bash) And personally I'd like a more shocking experiance. lol I think you might be on to something with the bbq ignitor though.
Thats a fantastic idea. I knew there was a reason I liked this forum so much. It's all the talents peeps with the fantastic idea's.
With that being said, anybody got a good tutorial for painting wood to look like metal?

I'd worry about the safety of using an electroshock gag. However, they do make those packs of gum and those lighters that shock you. If you get the gum, you want the one that actually looks like a pack of brand name gum. The generic cheap ones barely tingle at all. You may be able to get the mechanism out and rewire it to bigger batteries.

I love it. Great work so far. Can't wait to see what it looks like when you age the wood with those bolts.

I think you should make the box look like wood rather than metal. It would fit the whole old vending/game/fortune teller machine theme better.
Great idea, by the way!

By the time I'm finished, theres going to be a lot of wood finishes. I wanted something to mix it up a little. Figure the chair might get lost if the entire box was finished like old wood. Besides, its too late now. lol

I purchased a aaa batt. powered bbq ignitor. ($20)

With a little modification, I've attached 2 wires inside an arcade button.

The shock is enough to startle the unsuspecting, but mild enough Nobodies feelings will be hurt.
Short clip of the button in action (multiple shocks, I'm a glutton for punishment.lol)
View My Video
while I was digging through the basement for a button, I found a light I'd all but forgotten about.

I think I'll include it in the build. Still not sure if I'll mount it inside on the back wall (mounted sideways), or on the top (inside or out)
