Thread: What's this painted with???

I recently bought this tombstone from an eBay seller and I'm trying to figure out what it's coated in.

I know it's paint, but there's a texture to it that's very "cement-like" and I want to coat my other stones with whatever it is.

I may have just figured it out.

Monster mud with sand? Yes? No?

That would be my guess or maybe just glue and sand.

It might be painted with latex drylok, a water proofing paint that has sand added to it.

Theres many different textured paints on the market. Floor paints are often loaded with a sand like product for increased traction. Theres also a few paint systems to mimic stone/rock etc that have a grainy texture to them. The stone/rock paints would be my best guess.

Yes. Or Dryloc ( maybe just paint) and sand..

This is such a newbie question, but what kind of dryloc should I be using? I usually only see masonry dryloc or dry lock for concrete. Are they all the same?

Ive used concrete in the past. ( everyone here was a "noob" at some point)

Ended up going with cement colored outdoor latex paint and will be adding sand to it
