Me and my son each picked out a pumpkin Saturday and put them in front of the house like every other year. Went home at lunch and found that one was gone. Of course they had to take HIS. Who steals a little boys pumpkin anyways!?![]()

It helps to think of it this way:
Mom, why are we taking this? Shouldn't we go to the store?
I know honey, but I don't have the money this year. And they have two so it'll be okay! It's not like we're taking all of them...
But Mom...
I just want you to have a fun Halloween too...
Okay, but we shouldn't take anything else!
Utter glurge, but maybe you'll feel a tiny bit better. My mind makes up all sorts of sappy stories when things like this happen. I found a $5 bill once that was blowing around a shopping center and I kept replaying this ridiculous story that some kid lost it while shopping for his mom. So of course I had to go donate it to get rid of the guilt.
Either way, don't let it kill your Halloween spirit!

I feel your pain. I had 14 or 15 pumpkins stolen last year.

Oh man, that bites!
I'm really sorry your son lost his pumpkin.
LOL Xane! That's a really funny way to deal with things like that. Hehehe I bet it helps sometimes, but the guilt thing seems like more trouble than it's worth! LOL
Thanks for the entertaining story though.

I just got 75¢ outta the soda machine when I put a $1 in for a 75¢ soda. Did I check to see who used the machine last? No. Do I feel guilty about it? No. Is this the Mt. Dew that I got for that quarter talking? Probably.

Back in the day we did it the old fashioned way, we stole from the fields where the 'kins were growing. These kids today, just laaaazyyyy.
Seriously, that sucks. At least there's time to get another one or 2.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

We had a couple pumpkins out front of our house last year. Every year you drive about town running over pumpkin guts, because some bratty kids thing its so much fun to steal them and smash them in the road. I had a pretty big one last year and when I came home from work at 11pm I noticed it was gone, So I drove up the road gearing up for seeing my poor pumpkin as road kill, but their he was in some kids arms, as he was trying to carry it up the hill. I got out of the car asked the kid if he likes stealing things from other people and he put down the pumpkin, I grabbed it and took him back home, where he spent his days in the comfort of my hallway!

Oh noes! I am so sorry. I HATE hearing about theft of haunt related items. It sucks. I understand going without fun things as a kid- it sucked. But I didn't steal from other people.
I am so scared my stuff is getting stolen this year.
There are tons of teenagers who skateboard on our street, right by my house. If they wanna steal some pumpkins- I already have a few out, I 'll be sad but oh well. But if they break alot of stuff or steal stuff, i am gonna be crazed!
Sorry Chaserbug!

Also- if a kid stole my pumpkin to take home and carve b/c their family couldn't afford it, I'd sob and give them another one, and also give them costumes, etc. I am a huge softie for kids around holidays.
However, if it was a gang of thug life just breaking stuff, my eyes would glow red. Keep in mind I have 3 teens who I know are not perfect.
But you have a right to be disappointed. Your kids stuff was snatched.
