I hope one of you clever people can help me

I want to hang some keys from a brick archway, which I was planning to do by tying a bit of fishing wire around them. However, previous experiences with christmas decorations have shown me that exposed brick is incredibly difficult to make something stay fixed to. Tape doesn't work at all, glue would be too permanent (rented house!) and blutack, although it works the best, has a tendency to unstick and is very visible.

Does anyone know of a semi-permanent (ie. it'll stay fixed until I want it to come off) and close to invisible way of hanging something from a brick archway? It's part of the house so the top of the arch meets the wall, so no chance of just looping the wire over the top.

Hot melt glue gun, you can run a hair dryer over the glue when you want to remove it.
Always best to try it out on something non visible first but hot melt glue guns are fantastic bits of kit and cheap too....

This handy little device is what you call a brick clip.
Ya just force the 2 tabs into the motar line......

And the teeth on the back do all the work.

I believe these are rated for approx 60lbs but theres many different brick clips to choose from.

So I could (theoretically) pick up some of these brick clips at any Lowes or Home Depot?

Not sure if home depot sells em or not. They do however carry these concrete/brick hooks for sure (15lbs)

Just pound the 3 little nails into the brick (The tiny holes are real hard to see after its removed)

My brick hangers were purchased from lee valley tools.

I think the glue gun sounds more feasible than the clips, purely because the clips look very visible and like I said about this being a rented house, I'd be worried about tearing a chunk of brick work out if I start trying to put holes in things

Thanks for the suggestions though unless someone comes up with anything better, the glue gun sounds good. Are they guaranteed to melt again under heat? Or is this like, a specific type for this kind of thing?

These! Get these! They work great, do no damage to the mortar or brick, no holes, no glue, no mess, no fuss. You can remove them and use them again and again, move them around, no issues. I use them to hang my latex skellies on the sides of our garage door. They work great and are barely visible. If you hang something from them, you don't see them at all. My house has brown bricks however, so these brass looking clips blend in perfectly with my brick. Go to Amazon.com and search for brick clip, you can get a 2-pack for around $6. I have not seen them at Lowes or Home Depot, but I haven't specifically looked for them either. I would think they would have something like this, but you might want to call and check first.

Clear silcone will work too. You can peel it off too with a little heat.
