I just picked up this awesome 6 ft garden fountain for $20 at a yard sale. We are thinking of filling it with "blood" in our graveyard and maybe dry ice? We would love any ideas you guys might have!

A blood fountain is always great. I did hear or find of a good looking blood that works for fountain pumps. I can't remember where I found it, now did I bookmark it. It might've been someone on the foum that posted a link to it. Maybe do a quick search. Either that or getta mister like they use in decorative humidifiers. Personally, I'd darken it up some. Maybe get some spanish moss from a pet store (cheaper than prop store moss). Maybe even get one of those cheap crows and perch it on the side.

Remember red does not show well in a dark area. You could also do some glowing water , lit by a black light. I've seen a few ideas out there on how to make water glow. I made a fountain using plastic skulls and Great
    Stuff.

you could probably get away with using water and just lightinging it from above with a red spot light.

dry ice and some cheap submersible green lighting would look killa (or red)

Just a though. I see small table fountains all the time that create fog with water vapour forced through a diafram.. I'm just wondering if theres bigger units on the market.
Dry ice can be a pain (pick up,life span etc etc) Add water to the mix and it melts 100x faster.
Theres always the old fog machine fall back plan.

Yes they make many different sizes of these misters. Everything from ones for your desk to large enough for a pond. Just look around online to find the right size for your needs.

fountains of blood were something I always used in my haunts and were a kick, I'd leave it on in the day time and it really caught people's attention, there's some pictures in my album, I usually used a mixture of regular water, a bottle or two of stage blood and a bottle or two of red food coloring. I found a small mister that created a fog vapor at the halloween super store and placed one on each side of the fountain just below the water level and it made the fog come up thru the water. I used a small fountain pump to make
a dome of blood coming down over the two skulls in the center of the fountain which hid the tube for the water pump. A fountain of blood can really catch people's attention and
be something not every haunt in the neighborhood might have

The easiest thing would be running it with regular water but floating rubber snakes and spiders in the various layers.
