My stirring witch built from the www.scarefx.com plans just got a redo on the cauldron. I added sand and oatmeal (an idea from davethedead on another forum) to add rust texture. This isn't up to say Terra standards but I like how it's turning out. Next is to work on Verminella's wardrobe.

No spray paint. I just poured paint onto a paper plate and mixed in a handful of sand and oatmeal.

Great Job! Really gives it that "flaking rusty metal" look. In what color order did you paint/texture it?

Black, orange textured, brown textured, purplish brown (accidental mix of red, brown, drab green and black that turned purple. I thought it looked "witchy"). Gray dry brush, black dry brush to mute the orange a bit and then flat black areas spritzed with a water spray bottle to add runs to make it look like it's leaking at the seams. I applied the middle blotches with a sponge.

Wow, great result! I've always wanted a cauldron prop but hated the plain plastic ones. I see a weekend project coming up!
