Wanted to make this last year, but didn't have time! So here it is completed......wanted it on a base so I could display it inside or out.....made a few mistakes with the hot glue being my first time with it - lessons learned for next time!! I had to touch up with glue around the tops of the PVC & didn't make sure I left enough room for the tealight, so had to cut out some of the dried glue....TOUGH to do...so need to make sure I leave plenty of room next time...

    Here are the pics:

This is the base I decided to use...piece of wood from AC Moore where the edges were already routed....we bought dowels & just drilled holes for them to fit in & glued with Gorilla glue...

Same thing painted.....base of plain black, top coat of Hammered pewter then clear coat:

Like everyone else I used PVC pipe, cut with a chop saw to various lengths, filled with spray foam, dripped with glue & painted.....I just shoved the candles over the dowels - went right thru the spray foam no problem.

Finished prop.....I like the crooked look of the "candles"....makes it look more "authentic" IMO....Also just made some glue "drips" by puddling glue on an old sheet & peeled them off & painted them.....they just tuck under the PVC candles & can be moved about easily....

I didn't make him for you!... He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval.

It's not easy having a good time! Even smiling makes my face ache!

Thanks all!! The drip-puddles around the base were my husband's idea....he's very proud of them!
