I just pulled my 3, 3-axis skulls ( halloween bob's original version) out of storage. I haven't used them in a few years because I had breast cancer and didn't really focus on my haunting as much as I would have liked to.
My question is: can anyone tell me what power I need to supply to the ssc-32 board to drive 12 servos. My power supply broke ( hand made one by my husband ) and I want to buy a wall wart.
I searched & searched for the info and am sure it is in a logical place but couldn't find it.
Powering that many servo's off the board may cause power servo starving problems.......
I use either a 9 volt battery on the VL side or a regulated 8-9 volt 110 converter plug ( with the VL & VS jumper off ) & a PC power supply with the yellow 5+ volt wired to SSC32 & each skull.
& Black - wire to skull & servo board. I don't run power thru my cat5 cables,use separate 18 gauge as I had too many problems with signal wires next to power wires with the servo's.
I believe halloweenbobs are the about the same set up.

I don't remember if I had any servo starving problems before but it's been a while. I am still in prototyping mode so I have not extended the servo wires yet so I will keep powering directly in mind as I work on the skulls.
I'm using 24' cat5 cable to run some distance from controller to skulls, but if your staying very close / minimal extension & using servo cable extensions instead of cat5, then you should be ok. Multiple servo's can be power munchers off the board....loL up to 1 amp under load per servo i believe ( 1/2 amp min no load )......would be a good rule to use for feeding dem puppies.
& extended distance can reduce signal & create power draw prob's if wires are too thin....
