It has been awhile since I have shared any props I have been working on. I thought I would share my Rum Drinking Pirate or as I call him Rum Guzzlin' Gus. Basically I wanted to build a pirates chest and I wanted to build a rum drinking pirate so I decided to combine the two. I have alot of pictures leading up to his build but I wanted to share where I am at as of now.

Tomorrow I will install the water pump and the head will be mounted to line up properly to the rum flow from the bottle. I am using a water pump from a swamp cooler and the pump as well as the water bucket actually hide under the gold. The gold "booty" is a hollow box that can be removed from the chest so that you can access the pump and it can be well hidden from all angles. The gold is actually dollar store coins I have painted, fake jewels and some mounding affects I have made with foil and paint. I wanted the image of a scoundral buried in treasure chugging away at his rum. So far I am happy with the results. Their will be more treasure added in the end such as gold goblets and platters etc etc. I will of course also paint the rum bottle toward the end of the project.

I will add pictures as the pump comes along but enjoy this one for now

Thanks everyone! Dave I am going to switch it our for a nice plastic booze bottle to get a better rum bottle look. Tomorrow I will play more with the tubing but so far looks like it will come together nicely.

Looks awesome Mr Gris. I have that same chest, found at Goodwill for $8, where did you get yours? I plan to do a popping pirate in mine since the foam is so lite.

I found this chest at a yard sale this year a party store was having. I paid 3.00 for it so I couldnt complain one bit! Thats awesome you found the same one.
