Pumpkinrot deals almost exclusively with paper mache and natural items such as branches and twigs. Theres no official how-to per say but Spooky Blue's style is pretty close. http://spookyblue.com/halloween/grou...ndbreaker1.htm

The P.R. style groundbreaker I made a couple of years ago is basically just a cardboard tube as the spine, newspaper ribs done in the same fashion as Spookyblue, a foam skull that was mach'ed over with paper towel, and rolled newspaper again for the arms with a carboard hand and wire for fingers, then the whole thing got layers of paper mache and cheesecloth for detail.

It's a shame your not doing Halloween, most of these things are made on tight budgets. A little newspaper, glue, wire and paint can go a long way, surely you can whip up something!
