Bought 2 candles at batteroperatedcandles.com - they say they are outdoor, don't melt in sun, but they have an auto timer. Its says once they are turned on the first time manually, they turn off after 5 hrs and then turn on the same time each day (and off). I have some of these candles in the past, but not been able to leave outside because they melt. Or, they sell some at Walmart by a diff company but a reviewer said you have to turn them on every day (they will turn off by themselves). I dont like that. So lets see if these can withstand the heat in October.

Very cool! Can you post a link? I tried the one you posted (with and without the "y" in battery) but it wasn't correct.

LEDs are a godsend for Halloween decor. They last forever. We are using LED tealights for our wedding, and I wanted to do an experiment to see how long the battery would last. It lasted for over one week!
I used a set of lighted LED eyes for a prop last year. They were powered by a 9 volt battery. They eyes would stay lit 4-5 days, running 24 hours a day.

The circuit that every company out there had in their timed candles used to be 8 hours on, but last Christmas I saw a lot of them with 5 hours on, so there's clearly a company in China that started making a competing board. I don't think 5 hours is long enough!

Well I got the candles, they feel waxy, but I guess they are some type of resin. I hope they hold up in FL heat.
Why don't they make solar powered stuff!!!????argh....

Well, after the rain down here - I must say these candles are awesome. They still light up on time with the autotimer. no water damage. I left them in their thin plastic containers though, but they were open on top. Just wanted to let everyone know...I turned them on Oct 1 and they are still bright as ever.
