This is the very first time I have ever picked up an airbrush. I don't know why but I had this fear of trying to use one. So today I unpacked the one I've had brand new sitting in a box for over a year and with no practice whatsoever decided to see if I could use it on this ground breaker I have been working on. I think it came out ok, not real happy with the blood color. I need to experiment with the red blue mixture to get the right color. Kept adding blue after I painted it and ended up with more of a purple color. The base coat on him is an outdoor paint from Lowes. As the great Mike Lavallee says "It's only paint." I may redo it and see if I can make it pop a little more. We'll see if time allows it. After I sprayed it with a sealer the colors faded a little bit.

I'd say your off to a great start ! Looks good so far. Yes it is only paint,....by going back over it with a redder mixture you'll get a nice 3 D effect of dried blood behind the top redder coating. Yes depending which sealer you used ( & paint brand ) some colors will absorb the clear & dull the color depth. If you go back & AB red on top of it, just use a small brush & dab some gloss clear on it will make it pop out better ( assuming you used a flat & semi gloss sealer on the body ? ).
& also remember, mistakes can end up as a plus in the end - & fear not the AB, let it fear you !
( If ya ever need any tips or info on ABing, be glad to help you, have many years in the ABing industry. )
Keep it up, ABing is fun,.....& very addictive,....LoL
When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
